BCA is a four-year undergraduate degree course generally for students who wish to delve into the world of Computer Applications
The IT industry in India is rapidly growing. Thereby the demand for computer professionals is increasing at a faster pace. The industry and business applications are creating a large number of opportunities for computer graduates
It is one of the very popular courses for those who want to enter into IT (Information Technology ) career. The duration of the course is 4 years of 8 semesters.
The course deals with the subjects like programming languages from ‘C’ to Python, database, networking, data structure, software engineering, Data Mining, Network programming, App development, Web development, AI, Machine Learning etc., The highly sophisticated computer lab with INTERNET connectivity, also with all the software required for their academic and project works are well configured and maintained helps the students to explore the subjects in depth.
The new curriculum of BCA has been designed based on New Education policy of Kannur university FYUGP. Thus, if a student exists BCA program after 3 years he / she will be awarded BCA degree, whereas if a student continues with 4 years degree program he / she will be awarded BCA (Hon).
The students who aspire BCA course must fulfill the following eligibility criteria:
BBA is a four year graduation course that follows choice based semester system. BBA course curriculum has been suitably modified to meet the needs of the Indian business society.
The course combines subject in the core functional areas of management with subjects like cost and management accounting, corporate accounting, legal aspects of business, principles of management, human resource management, event management and so on.
The course curriculum includes Industrial visit to alert the students with the Industrial expectations and Project work to be done at any one of the organizations
The new curriculum of BBA has been designed based on New Education policy of Kannur university FYUGP. Thus, if a student exists BBA program after 3 years he / she will be awarded BBA degree, whereas if a student continues with 4 years degree program he / she will be awarded BBA (Hon).
The students who aspire BBA course must fulfill the following eligibility criteria:
A pass in Higher Secondary Examination of the state or an Examination accepted by the University as equivalent thereto provided that the candidates coming from Non-Commerce group should have at least 45% of the aggregate marks.
The B.Com with computer application course is a four-year undergraduate course that follows the choice based semester system.
It aims to prepare the students for successfully operating in and contributing to the modern world of business as also for pursuing advanced research in the discipline. The course curriculum integrates theoretical and practical components of study covering a wide area of subjects like cost accounting, financial accounting, auditing, Business regulatory framework etc. The computer application option helps the students to gain practical knowledge in different computer languages and software which is an added advantage to their career opportunities.

BSc Biotechnology course is a 4 year undergraduate course based on Credit based semester system.Students can choose to exit at the end of 3 years with a BSc degree or continue to the 4 th year to persue BSc Honors/ BSc Honors with research.

Microbiology has been designed based on New Education policy of Kannur university FYUGP .Thus, if a student exists B.Sc. program after 3 years he / she will be awarded B.Sc. Microbiology degree, whereas if a student continues with 4 years degree program he / she will be awarded B.Sc.(Hon) Microbiology with research.
Microbiology graduates can avail several career options as microbiologist in various sectors. Pharmaceuticals, food, drug, fermentation, beverage, biofertilizer, biopesticide and cosmetic industries are a few to count. Few of the career options include-
Students completing B.Sc (Hon) and research are eligible to directly apply for PhD and to appear in various competitive examinations.
The BA English course is a four-year undergraduate course that follows the choice based semester system.

The students who aspire BA English course must fulfill the following eligibility criteria:
A pass in Higher Secondary Examination of the state or an Examination accepted by the University as equivalent thereto. Those who have Afsal Ul Ulama (Preliminary) (Regular) certificate from Calicut University are also eligible.
The students who aspire MCom course must fulfill the following eligibility criteria:
UG degree in B.Com/BBA/BBM/BBS with not less than 45% marks in Part III or equivalent GPA for core and complementary courses.
The students who aspire MSc course must fulfill the following eligibility criteria:
Bachelor’s degree in any of the subjects such as Biotechnology/ Microbiology/ Biochemistry/ Chemistry/ Zoology/ Botany/ Life Science or any other subject with Microbiology/Biotechnology as one of the subjects of study at degree level with not less than 50% marks in aggregate (excluding languages). Those who are awaiting final year B.Sc. results also can apply but they have to fulfill the eligibility criteria before the admission.
The students who aspire MA course must fulfill the following eligibility criteria:
B.A English/ Functional English as Core Course/ Part III excluding subsidiaries with not less than 45% marks or equivalent GPA excluding subsidiaries/Complimentary Courses or B.A./B.Sc. with English as Common Course with not less than 45% marks or equivalent GPA in Common Course.
Weightage of 10% of marks or GPA shall be given to the candidates who have studied English as optional. A weightage of 5% shall be given to candidates who have studied Functional English.
Candidates those who have passed LRP Programmes like BBM, BBA, B.Com and B Sc. etc are not eligible for M A English Programme.
