The Department of Commerce and Management at Chinmaya Arts and Science College for Women, Chala, has been dedicated to fostering academic excellence and professional growth in the fields of commerce and management.

The department began offering a business program, BBM( Bachelor of Business Management)in 2003, which was officially renamed as the Bachelor of Business Administration (BBA) in 2016, reflecting a broader and more modern curriculum designed to prepare students for dynamic business environments.

To meet the growing demand for commerce education, the Bachelor of Commerce (BCom) program was launched in 2011, providing comprehensive knowledge in areas such as accounting, finance, taxation, and business law.

In 2013, the department expanded its academic portfolio with the introduction of the Master of Commerce (MCom) program, offering advanced studies and specialization opportunities. This postgraduate program was a vital part of the department’s offerings until it was discontinued in 2025.
