BCA ( HON.)

BCA is a  four-year  undergraduate degree course  generally for students  who wish to delve into the world of Computer Applications. The IT industry in India is rapidly growing. Thereby the demand for computer professionals is increasing at a faster pace. The industry and business applications are creating a large number of opportunities for computer graduates. 

It is one of the very popular courses for those who want to enter into IT (Information Technology ) career. The duration of the course is 4 years of 8 semesters. 

The  course  deals  with  the  subjects  like  programming  languages from  ‘C’  to  Python,  database,  networking,  data  structure,  software  engineering,  Data  Mining,  Network programming, App  development, Web  development, AI,  Machine  Learning  etc., The  highly  sophisticated  computer lab  with INTERNET  connectivity, also  with  all the  software required for their academic and project works are well configured and maintained helps the students to explore the subjects in depth. Some of our students are placed in companies like iGate, Accenture, Wipro, Cognizant, TCS, Infosys etc.

Exit option as per Kannur University FYUGP 2024 in BCA (Hon)

 The new curriculum of BCA has been designed based on New Education policy of Kannur university FYUGP. Thus, if a student exists BCA program after 3 years he / she will be awarded BCA degree, whereas if a student continues with 4 years degree program he / she will be awarded BCA (Hon).

Eligibility

The students who aspire BCA course must fulfill the following eligibility criteria: 

• A pass in the Higher Secondary examination accepted by the University as equivalent thereto. 
• The 12th examination must be passed with computer science/mathematics/ information practice or computer applications as one of the subjects. 

The students are generally admitted on the basis of centralized allotment process of Kannur University, personal interview conducted by various institutes.
