The department started functioning from 2015 onwards offering Postgraduate course in MA English Language and Literature. 

Master of Arts in English is a two-year postgraduate programme that deals with the study of Literature and Language in English across the world. Our master's degree in English imparts practices for reading and deciphering the nuances of English language and contribute to developing the students analytical and creative thinking skills. 

It can take the students down a number of career paths, prepare for International Job Markets, and improve their own language skills. Students with English speaking skills are always preferred in every industry not only in India but globally.

Eligibility

The students who aspire MA course must fulfill the following eligibility criteria: 

B.A English/ Functional English as Core Course/ Part III excluding subsidiaries with not less than 45% marks or equivalent GPA excluding subsidiaries/Complimentary Courses or B.A./B.Sc. with English as Common Course with not less than 45% marks or equivalent GPA in Common Course. 

Weightage of 10% of marks or GPA shall be given to the candidates who have studied English as optional. A weightage of 5% shall be given to candidates who have studied Functional English. 

Candidates those who have passed LRP Programmes like BBM, BBA, B.Com and B Sc. etc are not eligible for M A English Programme.
