• B.Sc. Microbiology with Research (4 Year Programme) will have special emphasis on inculcating scientific and research skills regarding the role of microbiologist in food industries, medicine ,agriculture, oceanography, bioecology. 
• Specific industrial trainings and internship are included in curriculum for students to understand the specific role of microbiologist in quality control , research & development departments.
• Industrial visits, participation in seminar/conference, training programs aid in additional technical skills.
• Research aptitude and scientific writing skills are inculcated through various projects undertaken

Exit option as per Kannur University FYUGP 2024 in B.Sc. Microbiology(Hon) with research

The new curriculum of B.Sc. Microbiology has been designed based on New Education policy of Kannur university FYUGP .Thus, if a student exists B.Sc. program after 3 years he / she will be awarded B.Sc. Microbiology degree, whereas if a student continues with 4 years degree program he / she will be awarded B.Sc.(Hon) Microbiology with research.

Eligibility for Admission

A pass in Higher Secondary Examination of the state or an Examination accepted by the University as equivalent thereto with Biology as one of the subjects.
